QUARTZ SURFACES
The process to convert quartz in its natural state into slabs and countertops, etc. is used worldwide. Raw quartz crystals of varying size are selected and ground to specification and then cemented with various bonding agents, usually resins or acrylics, and selected colors. These batches are then heated and vibro-compacted to form the required surface.
The resulting slabs are a matrix of 93% quartz and 7% binders and pigments, free of fissures and cracks, and are impervious to moisture.
