ONYX
As a member of the quartz (chalcedony) family, Onyx is quite a different and beautiful cousin. While onyx is usually thought of as a dark or black mineral, it is also available in white, reddish brown, brown and banded colors. These variations make surfaces that are most unusually beautiful and different from most of the other stone products used on cabinetry these days. It has a smooth texture and an almost waxy luster. As a member of the quartz family, onyx surfaces are noted for their hardness and durability.
