MARBLE
Formed from Limestone, Marble is the metamorphosed result of tremendous heat and pressure exerted over millions of years, deep within the earth's crust. Interestingly enough, much of the recrystalized material in the marble (and limestone, too) is fossilized animal and vegetation mixed with other carbonate material at the bottom of ancient oceans and lakes.
The variety of minerals that comprise these rocks result in the wide range of colors that are found in Marble. Because of its beauty, strength, luster and resistence to fire, Marble has been a favorite medium for the builders and artists since classical times, thousands of years ago.
Here are some of the more popular colors of Marble out of the many available.
